Water is Life…
Across the African continent, the availability of drinking water is scarce, affecting the quality of life, safety, food, health and education of billions of human beings.
Women are most affected by this crisis. More than half of the 1.2 billion people who have no access to water are women and girls. It is estimated that women and girls spend more than 8 hours each day traveling up to 15 km to transport between 15 to 20 liters of water each trip. That’s up to 60% of their day carrying heavy buckets of water on their heads.

Empower Women – Empower a Nation…

The African Reflections Foundation(ARF) has launched a new initiative to empower women in rural Tanzania in communities where water wells are being built.
The Bucket Kit is a self-sustaining drip irrigation system ideal for communities suffering from water shortages. The irrigation system works using gravity, allowing the water to drip into the soil which provides enough moisture for a 6-row vegetable garden to feed a family and give them the opportunity to generate an income.
