Dar es Salaam, Tz – On her very first visit to Tanzania, African Reflections Foundation spokesperson, Jean Dobbs, Director of Shelter Services of the Catholic Charities Office in Albany, New York, arrived at Dar-es-Salaams International Airport in the early afternoon. She was promptly greeted by a group of Massi women who were quick to express their gratitude to Jean and African Reflections for starting a new line of jewelry created by the Massi Women. After exiting the airport Jean raised her hands to the air and yelled, "I'm home!"

A group of interested individuals has joined Jean on this trip to Tanzania which will serve as a fact-finding tour but will eventually lead to an awareness campaign in the United States. "We are just happy to be hear and hope that we can make new friends and share many stories with the people here," Jean said. The tour will begin with a number of visits to rural areas to allow the visitors to meet an interact with local villages. The goal of the trip is to discover the needs and requirements of women in Tanzania with the hopes that the new information will lead to many new initiatives taken by the African Reflections Foundation in the future.

"I’m already planning my return to Africa," an excited Jean stated. African Reflections, who will be launching their newest volunteer abroad initiative in April of 2007, have asked Jean to serve as a pioneer to the project.
