Celebrating the Launch of Deep Water Wells at Mkuranga Primary and Kiparang’anda Secondary Schools

> On October 22, 2024, the African Reflections Foundation, in partnership with Drilling for Hope,
proudly celebrated the launch of two deep water wells at Mkuranga Primary School and
Kiparang’anda Secondary School. This vital initiative now brings sustainable access to clean water,
enhancing health and daily life for students and surrounding communities.

> The event was graced by the District Commissioner of Mkuranga, Khadija Nassir Ally, who
attended as the guest of honor along with her team. Commissioner Khadija’s presence
emphasized the importance of clean water access in advancing both community health and
educational outcomes, highlighting the district’s commitment to these critical goals.
> These newly inaugurated deep solar-powered wells not only ensure reliable water access but also
represent resilience in the face of climate challenges, supporting the community’s needs for
generations. In addition, Karen Flewelling, founder of Drilling for Hope, contributed learning
materials to both schools, further empowering students in their academic journeys. Flewelling’s
impact over the past 19 years has included more than 100 water projects across Tanzania, bringing
transformative change to many communities.

> The celebration underscored the powerful impact of collaboration, resilience, and community
strength. The African Reflections Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Drilling for Hope,
Commissioner Khadija Nassir Ally, and all attendees who supported this landmark step toward a
healthier, brighter future for Tanzania’s youth.
